Shadows of Brimstone: Hell Vermin Enemy Pack
Once simple rats, the Hell Vermin have become deformed and twisted by the raw evil of the Darkness. These beasts have grown giant, sprouting multiple heads, a ridge of nasty spikes along their back, and a massive barbed tail to lash at their enemies! Their fangs drip with shadow and hate, corrupting those that are bitten, while their bodies mend even the most grievous of wounds. Only from the pits of Hell could such fiends be spawned!
This Enemy Pack contains everything you need to add the snarling mutant Hell Vermin to your games of Shadows of Brimstone! There are 3 large Hell Vermin models included, as well as the large Enemy Record Sheet and all of the Threat Cards needed to add them to your games.

The models are made of HIPS plastic and they come in two pieces. The pieces fit together very well, with only minimal gaps remaining after assembly.
I would describe these critters as two-headed wolf rats. The fur looks good, and there are scars and injuries strategically added to empty areas. The only thing I dislike about this model is that the ears are pressed flat against the heads. It really looks wrong, especially when looking at the model from the front.
The model's tail is wisely angled upward, which means it doesn't protrude very far off the base, and it makes for a great handle when you want to pick it up.
With the exception of the ears, I like these models, and my rating is 4/5 - Good.
Hell Vermin attack with all three damage types - Health, Sanity, and Corruption. This makes them fairly easy enemies since the damage isn't focused enough to bring heroes down. They can certainly be annoying for weaker parties or together with other enemies, but by themselves they are not much of a threat.
They are fairly standard foes that run forward and attack you. The only thing of note is an elite ability that prevents heroes from gaining Grit. Simple, and very easy to run.
Pretty basic monster, but it all works. I rate them 4/5 - Good.
It's called a Hell Vermin, and it feels like a Hell Vermin. Fits in very well with what I expect to find in a monster-infested western mine.
One thing I'm missing is some rule that calls attention to the fact that it has two heads. Something as simple as giving it Combat 2 would have sufficed, but no. It really feels like a missed opportunity to do something fun.
My theme rating for Hell Vermin is 3/5 - Decent.
With an overall score of 73%, I can recommend the Hell Vermin enemy pack. If you're looking for monsters with simple rules that are pretty easy to fight, these are perfect.
