  1. Reminds me of when White Dwarf was worth getting

Posted by George on 7th Feb 2025

This was a great first issue and the cards tying the articles to the game was a nice touch and I can't wait to play them.
I will start with my two criticisms. First, I agree that the production level is very high, but the binding made it hard to read without damaging the magazine. Second is the shipping cost. $10 for a magazine to ship seems high, there is surely a way to get that at a lower rate.
On the up side there is a lot to talk about. The selection of article topics was good. I can see the future of continuing series. I especially enjoyed the Cowboy discussion and am looking forward to getting that hero on the board now. The narrative playthrough was excellent and reminded me of old school battle reports that focus on the story as much as the action. Overall, I cannot think of an issue with the content other than I want more of it.
Can't wait to see the next one.

  2. Best magazine since white dwarf

Lots of information and good articles I hope they keep this up for a long time

  3. A Must-Have for Fans of Flying Frog Game

Posted by Jim G. on 24th Jan 2025

Dark Stone Magazine's first issue dives deep into the worlds of Flying Frog Productions, offering a treasure trove of content to elevate your gaming adventures. While it shines as a resource for enhancing Shadows of Brimstone mine-crawling campaigns, it also branches out to include features and insights for other Flying Frog titles like Last Night on Earth, Fortune and Glory, and A Touch of Evil.

Highlights include unique mission ideas that showcase creative ways to expand existing gameplay, stunning artwork that captures the eerie and cinematic atmosphere of Flying Frog’s games, and expert insights to inspire new approaches to your favorite titles. The magazine’s content feels particularly tailored to seasoned players, delivering advanced ideas and inspiration to take their gaming experience to the next level.

If you're a veteran of Flying Frog games eager for fresh ideas and creative twists, Dark Stone Magazine Issue #1 is an essential addition to your collection.

  4. I was expecting more

Posted by David j. White on 1st Jan 2025

I hoping it would be more like Wargames Ill. Mag. The quality was very nice, but it lacked more game information and tips and hints on playing SOB. I hate the way it was stapled; it will not lay flat and a few of my pages have split at the staple locations. Now that having been said I will buy the next issue. Hopping it will look more like Wargames Ill. Mag.

  5. Fantastic Supplement for Brimstone

Posted by Grandpa BBQ'er GameCat on 25th Dec 2024

Have enjoyed reading through issue #1.
Would like to see it come out 2 or 3 times a year.
I'll very much settle for a yearly publication though (may even make it more special).

  6. A promising first issue

Posted by Will on 25th Dec 2024

I eagerly read the entire magazine in one evening. The cards tied to articles are great. Nice poster which I framed in my game room. Hopefully future issues will hve a few less advert pages and a few more articles with new game content.

  7. The first of Hopefully Many

Posted by Rob Hughes on 22nd Dec 2024

This Magazine is a passion project as are all Flying Frogs products. The quality and finish are top notch. The cards and poster are an excellent touch. The layout is well done and feels intuitive. The authors are immersed in the product and succeed in almost every aspect.

That said, I would like to see more material like missions and and enemy focused changes. Really things that allow me to change or experiment with the gameplay.

Putting that small request aside and this being their first outing for a publication the Frogs have crushed it here. My goodness pick this Magazine up and enjoy.
