Set in Feudal Japan, the Forbidden Fortress Core Set allows players to take on the role of an honorable Samurai Warrior, a deadly ninja Assassin, a demon-hunting Traveling Monk, and even a mystical Sorceress, wielding powerful Elemental Magik to smite her foes! As a new Core Set, Forbidden Fortress is an exciting entry point into the world of Shadows of Brimstone for new players, while veteran players will find new Hero Classes, challenging new Enemies, a host of new adventures, and 2 new worlds to explore - the feudal Japanese Forbidden Fortress and the Belly of the Beast OtherWorld!

Amazing twist on a wonderful game

I played the original set Swamps of Death and absolutely fell in love. Descript lovecraftian storytelling, risky exciting gameplay, customizable characters with diverse abilities. I have been having a blast buying pieces to add to my collection and expanding my experience. I recently purchased Temple of Shadows and excitedly await seeing what horrors and loot the box holds. a truly unique gaming experience.

Purchased the KS and didn’t play when it was delivered. Moved a couple of years ago and decided to paint the miniatures. I found a solid group to play with and this game is amazing. Definitely is a bit of a hobby and labor of love to run the game, organize, collect, and paint but totally worth it. This has become a twice a month event for my normal group and I will even play some solo adventures in between. The best thing about this game is you can enjoy the painting and hobby aspect between sessions and have your freinds be exciters to fight the new big bads you’ve painted. The theme of the samurai and weird world is so cool. Definitely worth the money and effort to play this game.

A friend of mine got me hooked into SoB classic after just one game, so when I found this new core set that is infused with the look and feel of feudal Japan, I mashed add to cart as fast as I could! The base game is a blast and stands alone as is; however, adding the additional kits, sets, and cards really help add more difficulty and variety to fights.
This is the first time I've ever built and painted figures so it's been fun assembling, cleaning, and painting each and every one. It may seem daunting, considering how many models there are, but there is no rush getting them perfect--just assemble, glue to bases, and you're pretty much set to play.
My only regret was not finding out about this game sooner and investing in the KS packages...

Forbidden Fortress is a fantastic way to start your sojourn into Shadows of Brimstone. This core set in particular shows the time and effort Flying Frog put into perfecting their already amazing game. The heroes, encounters, items, enemies, and even the models all show improvement over the first core sets and shows the love put into the game. While I personally prefer the Wild West setting, Forbidden Fortress knocks it out of the part and feels authentic, unique, and is most definitely a worthy acquisition either as an alternate Earth world or as a starting set for Brimstone.
